Time Commitment

The amount of time required depends upon the role or roles selected. The amount of time can be flexible, but needs to be enough to complete any tasks accepted. There are no fixed schedules. All of the roles can be done at the convenience of the volunteer. Typical time requirements may be as little as a few hours per week up to five or ten hours. But, the time spent is totally up to the volunteer. If a task requires more time, we will work to recruit more volunteers to help.

Will I work one-on-one with parents or children?

All of our work is done remotely or in group meetings. Except in unusual circumstances, we do not work directly one-on-one with the children. It creates too much of a potential liability issue.

Confidentiality

Volunteers may become aware of individual family information. Volunteers need to sign a confidentiality agreement to protect any family or student confidential information.

Are there any stipends or expense reimbursements?

Initially we do not have any funds to provide stipends or expense reimbursements. We are not asking for volunteers to have to pay for anything. As we begin to raise funds, some positions may require more time and consistency which may require compensation.

How much training is required?

This depends upon the role or roles chosen. Every one should spend 2-3 at their convenience reading enough of the website and materials to understand our approach and how it is different. Family Ambassadors will need to spend 4-5 to learn more details about the program elements. .

Can I choose my role? Can I take on more than one role? Can I change my role?

Volunteers can choose any and as many roles as they can handle. They can start with one role and change.
